1. EC Planning Meetings want YOU!
Want to help plan Environmental Coalition meetings?
Come to EC Planning Meetings Sunday at 6PM at the
1st floor Squires Couches or GLC Lawn (weather permitting)!
 EVERYONE IS WELCOME!!!!
2. Volunteer at the Dining Services Garden at Kentland Farm!
Dining Services Garden at Kentland Farm will be having
Volunteer Days this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday!
Sign up on their facebook page!  Transportation is
provided (if you sign up).  If these times don’t work out,
grab a group of friends and contact edulsn@vt.edu to
figure out a good time to work at the garden!
On Monday October 24, help the Virginia Tech and
Blacksburg Community celebrate Food!  There will be
events happening all day. ( Check out the flyer below!)
Hints of what’s to come: On Campus Market, Eat Real Challenge,
Dinner at PIta Vera to Support the Sustainable Food Corps,
and Movie Screening of Ingredients at 7 PM, Fralin Auditorium.
4. Join the Blacksburg Elementary “Footbus”!
What: Walking Harding Elementary School Students home from school.
When: 3:00-4:00 PM Friday, October 21st
Where: Harding Avenue Elementary School
Who: 25-30 Hokies who like to work with children.

5. Student Farm Apprenticeship 
The SFC Student Farm Team is recruiting passionate, dedicated
students to apprentice at the Student Farm.   Students have
already given countless hours to the student farm and the produce
grown has provided vital assistance to community members without
access to healthy food.  If interested in helping continue this project,
contact Alex Darr (dalex90@vt.edu).
6. GE’s Environmental Job Info Session
The Mechanical Engineering Honor Society is hosting an info session
for GE’s Environmental Health and Safety Leadership Program.

7. Do you bike to the grocery store?  Fill out this survey about

carrying groceries on your bike.  Help out an industrial design

student’s project to design a backpack for grocery shopping.

 

8.  Tailgate for Alternative Transportation
Want to help fundraise for EC?  Come talk about Megabus this
weekend during the tailgate BEFORE the game.  You might even
get some food from the tailgate if you’re nice!
